The course will focus on an in-depth study of the fundamental principles underlying American constitutional democracy. Students will study the historical and philosophical foundations of our country's government, the organization or national and state governments, and the values and principles embodied in the Constitution that have shaped American institutions and practices. Class topics may include, but are not limited to a critical analysis of current events, service learning, public policy and studies in comparative governments.
