Human anatomy is the study of the relationship of the structure and function of the systems of the human body. The class will use a basic college level textbook, supplemented with online resources and is designed for students who will take Anatomy and Physiology (A and P) as part of their college requirements. First Semester will cover basic principles, tissues, and the first half of the major body systems. Topics include scientific method, the human organism, cell structure and function, tissues, integumentary system, and the skeletal system. Second semester will include a major dissection of the fetal pig as well as the cow eye, sheep brain, cow heart, and domestic pig kidney. Topics include the muscular, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, and digestive systems as well as the senses.
